If you copy a .MNY file to a hard disk from a CD, it will be marked as Read> crash. > I am getting an error message that states money cannot find the file or it > may be read only. Only. - quote - > These are the same files that were generated with this

One way to find out for sure is to download/install the trial version of M+ (latest version) and see if it will upgrade your data file and then to see what file extension it saves the "backup" (renamed copy, actually) as. .M16, for instance, is Money2007. IIRC, an M2k file should be set as .MN8. If, say, your file is "backed up" as .M12, you need to go looking for your Money2004 CD. - quote - > Or are you saying there must have been some form
This has happened--M05 is the only case I can recall. M2K was A LONG TIME> of service update patch that now makes the original disks a "previous > version". This is one example of the kind of risks you run running obsoleteware. It> age of the 2000 version? may or may not be the case, but I would suspect it is the case that any service updates made available during the supported life of M2K are no longer available. |

| I have had to reinstall Money2000 on an XP machine after a hard drive crash. I am getting an error message that states money cannot find the file or it may be read only. These are the same files that were generated with this same version that had been copied to a backup disk before the crash and can't be opened now. In other areas of this group it mentions something about trying to open a .mny file with an earlier version. These are the same disks that were used originally. Or are you saying there must have been some form of service update patch that now makes the original disks a "previous version". Would these "updates" still even be avvailable online given the age of the 2000 version? |
