It's hard to know which strings followed by a question mark are actual questions. You seem to imply now that you knew there was free support and seem offended to have been pointed that way. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Paul wrote: > > > > Does anyone (Cal?) on this site work for microsoft? > > > I never have. > > > <snip> > > > Why is it so hard to fix this? | Wow. Love the smug one line replies. Check for free support. Gee, I didn't think of that. What I did think of is that usually free means that you get two free email incidents. Now, why should I waste one of my two free support requests on a problem that is clearly not a problem on my end. I'm not a technical retard asking something like how to import a downloaded QIF file or set up an income statement report. I've been annoyed by this Capital One download issue for several months and was hoping that the Money support staff would have noticed it and fixed it on their own. It's clear that even though this is a $90 (Home & Business) product, they don't value it enough to provide ongoing support. The fact that Yodlee, a free service, has twice as many available downloadable accounts as a $90 product is ridiculous. While none of that diatribe has anything to do with you, it doesn't help when I receive a brainless, one line, generic response that you and I both know is not the answer to my question. | Does anyone (Cal?) on this site work for microsoft? Is the Money team aware of what the problem is here? Money (and similarly MSN Money) is not distinguishing between Capital One credit cards and Capital One banking accounts. It's asking for OFX credentials (which you don't need) for credit card direct statement downloads. It used to be that Captial One credit cards were one of the accounts you "direct downloaded" into Money via MSN Money, i.e. you had to have your account set up through MSN Money's site. Now, if you try to set up a Capital One credit card account through MSN Money, you get the following message: "To access this account using MSN Money, you need to use OFX credentials. These credentials are used by MSN Money to retrieve financial information directly from your financial institution. The credentials you use to sign in to your financial institution’s Web site may not be the same as your OFX credentials." A similar message is given in Money if you try to set it up directly in the program itself (not going through MSN Money). This has been happening for two months and from talking with Capital One tech people, it is a MICROSOFT problem. Why is it so hard to fix this? Capital One is a big issuer of credit cards, so there should be a lot of people with this same problem. Microsoft Money is a widely used program with presumably many support staff. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO EVER REACH THEM? DOES ANYONE FROM MICROSOFT READ THIS? IS THERE ANY WAY TO CONTACT THEM WITHOUT PAYING $29.95 FOR A TWO MINUTE QUESTION? Any reply (Cal) is much appreciated. | Thanks, I did that but it just restores account data, not online service setup. | Has anyone had a problem updating their Capital One Credit Card account via Money within the past couple of days? I made the mistake of deleting the online services and attempting to reload them and now it is worse. I can't put them back as Money is now confusing the credit card with online banking and won't let me continue setting up an account. I have seen that post on here a few times. So frustrating!! Thanks for any help or suggestions. |
