| Be warned that there is a major flaw in the US version. It can't spell "cheque" correctly! :-) On a more serious note it can't cope with GST (if this matters to you). -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | If you are using the trial version of M2007, you are using the USA version (assuming it is not the Japanese version <g> ). In my opinion, you are better off using the '05 Australian version and starting over. BUT if you are happy with the USA version, you can download and install Money Plus (2008) which will convert your 2007 data file and you can continue to use it as is. In order to do that you have to purchase it via a credit card and give a (fictitious) address in the US. People have used 1600 Pennsyvania Ave., Washington, D.C. sucessfully (that's the address of the White House). -- Peace, BobJ "Dick Watson" <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote in message news:OEr9vfPoIHA.1740[at]TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... - quote - > Money files are NOT backward compatible. | Money files are NOT backward compatible. This is Money's (lame) way of trying to tell you this. There is no way--at least no way that does not amount to going pretty close to starting over--to take a Money file of version X and change it to Money version < X format. How desperate are you? 1. Money 2005 can't open a file created by Money 2007. Ain't gonna happen,> quite good. But in Australia, they don't sell this version but only > Money 2005 , so I bought a copy of 2005. In general, no older version of any program will open files created by a newer version. 2. The Australian version of Money (any year) won't open a file created by another country version of Money (any year). My recommendation is to export your data from the 2007 version to QIF files, then import them. See older threads in this group for details on how to do it. -- Steve B. New Life Home Improvement |

| Hi I would very much appreciate it if someone can help me out. I recently tried MS Money 2007 (downloaded trial version), found its quite good. But in Australia, they don't sell this version but only Money 2005 , so I bought a copy of 2005. When I tried to open the Money file (the 2007 version), it keeps asking me for a password, but I don't use password for any of my files. Can someone please shed some light? Cheers Shirley |
