| Turns out there is a better way. I've recorded it to make it easier for those who may have a similar issue in the future. 1. Back up your data! 2. If it's not already set up, set up an investment account with the new brokerage. If you are transferring to an existing brokerage account that is already being tracked in Money, skip to step 3. 3. Enter the investment account that you are transferring to another brokerage. Make sure all of your positions are up to date, and any dividends, fees, or any other account activity is up to date. 3. In the left column, click on Account Summary 4. Under "Common Tasks" select: More account tasks > Record a special activity > Transfer an account 5. You will be prompted to select the brokerage account where you transferring the equities/funds and to enter the effective date of the transfer. Enter the information and select Next. 6. A Transfer Summary dialog box will display showing the equities/ positions being transferred. If the information is correct, press Next. 7. A dialog box prompting you to close the old account will appear. Select YES and click Finish. You will now be returned to the account summary page for the account you just closed. Return to the Account List page. The old account should no longer appear (depending on whether or not you have closed accounts set to display in your preferences), and the positions will be reflected in the new account. I would prefer to disable online access to the old broker.> any one have any recommendations as to best reflect the transfer? > There were some associated fees with the transfer, so those will need > to be captured as well. Any thoughts or suggestions would be > appreciated. Delete/Void any downloaded transfer-outs. Rename the account, and put in the new broker and account number. Add a comment regarding the event. Set up the new account for online access. Delete/Void any downloaded transfer-ins. Keep the charge. Check back with your old broker's website periodically to get any dividends that get paid later. Enter them by hand. You might want to keep a copy of your file pre-change under a different name. Download transactions into it for collection of data. |

| Hello, I recently transferred equities from one brokerage to another. Does any one have any recommendations as to best reflect the transfer? There were some associated fees with the transfer, so those will need to be captured as well. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. -b |
