| Thank you both Dick and Cal for your quick response and suggestions. I have chosen to do the "Cut and Past to Account" option. Because I had been able to download the previous 120 days of transactions into the new account, it turned out I just needed to transfer about 24 entries. This was method faster, but more important it eliminated the risk of typing errors. I can now close off the previous account and have a new start. Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Peter Stacey. ************************** "LPS-AU" <lps_softw[at]westnet.com.au> wrote in message news:OoB2CMKmIHA.2328[at]TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... - quote - > I continued to use an Account when the bank changed the Account details > which included a new account number etc. > I would like to close the original account and start a new Account using > the new account details and import the account transactions (four months > worth, that are currently in the original account) and copy these > transaction details into the new account. The easiest way is to not close the account and create a new one.> which included a new account number etc. > I would like to close the original account and start a new Account using the > new account details and import the account transactions (four months worth, > that are currently in the original account) and copy these transaction > details into the new account. Then set up for online access if you like. You could record a note in the comments about the date that the account changed. Dick's method does what you asked for. This one offers an alternative to what you asked. |

| You'd want to "Cut and Paste to Account" (r-click menu on the original transaction/account register) to move each of the transactions to the newly created account. But I'm not sure you can do this on E transactions. An alternate is just to enter the old account details and a date they changed in the comments (Account Details) for the account and update the other details as required. | I continued to use an Account when the bank changed the Account details which included a new account number etc. I would like to close the original account and start a new Account using the new account details and import the account transactions (four months worth, that are currently in the original account) and copy these transaction details into the new account. Preferably without having to enter each and every detail by hand. Is there a way to do this? TIA Peter Stacey. ********************* |
