| Did you do all of this with Money closed? Restart Internet Explorer and verify that you are using the Basic tools by going to the Portfolio Manager on MSN Money: http://money.msn.com Then restart Money and try again. If it still crashes, try deleting IE's cookies (or more specifically the Moneycentral cookie) -Mark "winter" <winter[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:ED1C370C-7720-4489-B46A-A7D8BC07D57F[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Mark, > As a supplement to my last post below, I notice that if I select any of > the > 1st 4 Help items, this also results in a "Microsoft Money Has Stopped > Working" message. > "winter" wrote: > > Mark, > > > I tried choosing basic tools as you suggested but I got the same result > > "Money Stopped Working..." > > I clicked on details and this is the report: > > > Problem signature: > > Problem Event Name: APPCRASH > > Application Name: msmoney.exe > > Application Version: 17.0.0.1414 > > Application Timestamp: 47b661e7 > > Fault Module Name: StackHash_db3c > > Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 > > Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 > > Exception Code: 80000003 > > Exception Offset: 06ea75ba > > OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 > > Locale ID: 1033 > > Additional Information 1: db3c > > Additional Information 2: 829e6ba8c5cd0db9589292ebadfd9dfa > > Additional Information 3: e0d3 > > Additional Information 4: 701aa6447eafe276d9d90ee9b792caf6 > > > I have a backup hard drive that I use for these situations. | Mark, I tried choosing basic tools as you suggested but I got the same result "Money Stopped Working..." I clicked on details and this is the report: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: msmoney.exe Application Version: 17.0.0.1414 Application Timestamp: 47b661e7 Fault Module Name: StackHash_db3c Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: 80000003 Exception Offset: 06ea75ba OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: db3c Additional Information 2: 829e6ba8c5cd0db9589292ebadfd9dfa Additional Information 3: e0d3 Additional Information 4: 701aa6447eafe276d9d90ee9b792caf6 I have a backup hard drive that I use for these situations. Since my primary drive would not work with the "portfolio view" I copied my backup drive (3/8/08) to my primary so that I had a pre-update condition. I first selected Basic toolbox as you suggested, then restarted, then opened Money, it wanted to update, it did successfully, I see ......1415 but the Portfolio still fails. Everything else including reports open ok. What else can you suggest? Thanks for your help! | Thanks for the reply, Mark, but I do not seem have MSN Money Investment Toolbox installed. At least it doesn't appear in the Control Panel/Programs & Features listing. | Try uninstalling the MSN Money Investment Toolbox (via Control Panel). You'll need to make sure that both Money and Internet Explorer are closed when you do so. -Mark "winter" <winter[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news B1A5EE4-1D0E-4CB1-8EB3-021EC134C8D1[at]microsoft.com...- quote - > I have a similar problem as LongTime1998 - After the update, money home > page > and accounts work ok but when I click on Portfolio, then I immediately get > the message "Microsoft Money Has Stopped Working" > I have Vista Ultimate. > Any ideas?? > Thanks. > "LongTime1998" wrote: > > > > "The Big Woo" wrote: > > > > Yesterday I started Money Plus and got a message that there was an > > > update to > > > download and install. | Yesterday I started Money Plus and got a message that there was an update to download and install. I completed that update and got a message that if Money didn't run to properly to restart my computer. I did that and when I try to run Money I get a message that says MICROSOFT MONEY HAS STOPPED WORKING. I tried to use the fix that you sent me back in November of 2007, which pointed me to this article in the Microsoft Knowledge Database http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942485 but it did not work. When I clicked "turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:" and tried to add the Money executable files to the DEP list I got a message that said "This program must run with data execution prevention (DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program." Now what do I do????? Thanks in advance for your help. |
