When you do Help-> About, what is the version? Also, while there,> installation trying to open it is the same one that produced it. write down your Serial Number for use as the product ID if you need to contact Microsoft support. At the point that it is asking for a password, does it give you the alternative to work offline? If so, I would try that selection. An "archive" file is a *.mny file. A backup file is a *.mbf file. Which do you have? If *.mny, try to make a repaired version of your file with File-> RepairMoneyFile-> StandardFileRepair level 2. That should serve to show if the problem is a password problem, and it might make a repaired version of your file without a problem. - quote - > JC > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, jcbyte wrote: > > > > I tried to open an archive file done back in December. | The file was produced by money 2007 and was dated in december of 2007. The installation trying to open it is the same one that produced it. A common thing that can produce that symptom is that the file is> transaction data that I deleted by mistake. actually newer than the version being use to open/restore the file. So determine what kind of file it is for sure. Think about if this is the same installation that produced the file. |

| I tried to open an archive file done back in December. I tried to open the file today but keep getting a message that email or password is incorrect. I have not changed either. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am trying to recover some on transaction data that I deleted by mistake. JC |
