There is no way in the application nor, as Dick replied, is there an API. If
you have simple programming skills you might consider trying to record
something like a macro in Excel that copies from a cell, navigates to a
different open window (Money), and inserts the copied value into the price
field.

I did something like that years ago in an earlier version of both Excel and
Money, but don't know if it could be done in current versions. Even if it
could, there would probably be a risk of error. I would suggest not
automating it walking through an entire spreadsheet of prices. Instead,
assign a ctrl-key combo for one cycle of price addition, then do it
repeatedly, manually. That way the damage would be limited, if a single data
entry cycle caused an error.

Default Re: A way to manually bulk update investment prices?

Nobody has ever identified a way to manually bulk update investment prices
short of an online quotes download.

The .MBF file is a backup file.

The .MNY file has the price history embedded in it. It is stored in an
MSISAM file which is a relative of JET or Access .MDB database storage.
There is no intended API or otherwise exposure to muck with it, though
various hacks to get at the data from Access have been reported. Nobody has
reported using paths like this to do what you want but it surely is possible
with enough time and effort.

I noticed from the price history chart I can export to excel.
Can I somehow put my historical prices in the exported excel format and
import again? I converted it to QIF but the import function does not
allow you to import against individual investments.

Default A way to manually bulk update investment prices?

Is there a way to manually bulk update investment prices?
Money Plus cannot find an investment I want to track so I was manually
but this becomes tidious.

I was hoping for a way to edit the historial prices manaully as I could
write a script to do this.
Are all the historical prices stored in the .mbf file? Anyone ever
manually manipulated this? If so how?
