We have found in the UK that a Visa card registered in the UK won't be
accepted but an Amex card will.

I think that Money uses the Windows regional settings to determine
some things that it does differently, including basis. I don't

interface of the banks themselves is often limited to the Web

Money Plus and 2007 do not have a "Canadian" mode as did some
earlier versions of Microsoft Money. I expect those should still
be able to convert the Money files Canadian versions since Money
2000. The current file format is a unified North American English
version. I don't know what the situation is for Canadian French
files. I expect Money Plus is the same in this regard, but I am
not sure. If you want to buy Money Plus Deluxe (you could not use
Essentials for your purpose), you would need a US address.

The version sold in Canada is Money 2006. As far as I know it is
the Canadian Microsoft people who make that determination. I would
not expect Money 2006 to expire for Canadian users unless a later
version was offered. I am not speaking for Microsoft, but I am
trying to interpret. But that would parallel the case in the UK
where they sell Money 2005 still. Yet the parallel is not the
same. If you go to microsoft.ca and look for Money, it ends up at
the US site.
