| If you go to the Customize | Details tab and select Type: All Types, you will get the transfers. | I'll try to remember to look at Spending By Category when I get the chance, but it is possible you can't get there on that report. Again, this would be because the money that goes to principal isn't spending (it doesn't make you poorer). It's cash flow and that's relevant to certain questions--not the least of which is whether there is enough cash to go around--but this is an importnant distiction that some users find too esoteric. Learning the distinction, however, might help many people's personal financial management. | It is a spending by category report, Money 06 and I am using Advanced Reports. This particular report doesn't let me use transfers in the custimization windows, but I see other reports do. (Like 'monthly income and expenses"), so I'll play around with the other reports and see what I can do. I just want a report that shows normal spendng each month, ie., where the money goes. Thanks. | What Report? What version/edition? If applicable, are you using Advanced Reports? In the reports we now know as advanced, some reports will require you to include transfers in the customization settings. Different reports have this in different places. Try in particular Row & Column | Details, IIRC. The reason for this is that while the interest and taxes are expenses, the principal transfer is just that and is, thus, not an expense. | I am trying to do a spending report and the only mortgage category I can get to show up is MortgageInterest, even though I have all categories selected. When I go into the details of my payment, the split is: Principal Transfer: xx Mortgate Interest: xx Real Estate Taxes: xx I can get Interest and Real Estate taxes to show up, but how can I get either the entire payment to show up in the spending report, or the "principal transfer", so I can see an accurate view of my monthly spending? Or is this not possible, because it's a loan? TIA |
