| What are the MM version you guys use? I´m using the 2007 version, and I didn´t note this kind of problem (although I´m out the office right now. I´ll check this out later). |

| William, Thanks for your feedback. I'm an old Managing Your Money user and new to MM. I'm finding out that the results in MM don't always turn out like one would expect. I wanted to be sure I didn't back myself into a corner and start finding erroneous data sometime down the road as a result of using a work-around. Good to know you haven't had any problems doing this. Thanks again. -- Kelsey "William R Wood" wrote: - quote - > Nothing wrong with your method. | Nothing wrong with your method. I also use zero amounts in Bills myself for various items just so I see the reminder. Some months I Skip the zero transaction or sometimes I use Enter into Register and then enter the exact amount just as you are doing. I have been doing this for many years and have never seen a problem. | I really like the idea of having the ability to adjust the monthly budgeted amounts in the Advanced Budget module. However, I still want to be able to see the scheduled payment on the calendar, or have the option to pay the bill from the Bills Summary screen. I think I found a way to do this which seems to work, but I would appreciate your feedback before I go and change all my budgets. Please feel free to shoot holes in this! Money will double count the values if you schedule both a payment in Bills and enter the amount in the Budget. Workaround: Enter category Budget amounts for each month. Then, for the items I want on the calendar, schedule a recurring monthly entry in Bills for the same item, except show the amount as 0, estimate. Now the bill shows up on the calendar, as well as the budget and cash flow screen with out distorting any numbers. Pay the bill from the Bills calendar or the Bills Summary page by clicking on the "Enter in Register" button, but now adjust the 0 amount to the actual amount you are paying. Seems to work great, but I want to make sure I'm not really screwing up some data elsewhere. Thanks -- Kelsey |
