| Years ago I had that problem: Cal gave me the answer . (of course) COPY the original file and then DELETE everything - except for the account I needed. SO if had: phone account credit card account car payment 401k Checking, savings accounts .... If you want JUST one account - say the 401k info, close Money - copy the Money.mny file and rename the new copy " 401k.mny " Open Money (- file- close current file if it opens automatically, then) File - OPEN - browse to ' 401k.mny ' , open it and THEN delete everything BUT the 401k info. It's really quick to do it that way. Deleting accounts is easy as long as your 'object account' has no transactions linked to another account. (So if you wrote a check from CHECKING and deposited it into 401k account years ago, that transaction would disappear when you delete "Checking account" ) bobb "Barbara K" <BarbaraK[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:52B998D7-973F-4A07-9AF3-069B7D5B44AF[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I'm curious to see a response for this, as I have been searching for > some > info on the same exact problem. | I'm curious to see a response for this, as I have been searching for some info on the same exact problem. I have a position in one account that had historical return of capital transactions. Prior to the transfer to another account, the cost basis reflects that RTC. But after the transfer, the cost basis returns to the original purchase price rather than the adjusted cost basis. And I can't figure out how to post a manual adjustment to reduce the cost basis in the new account without impacting the cash balance. Anyone have any clues? -- BDK "OG" wrote: - quote - > I need to transfer my investment data (NOT just current list of equities) two > different accounts into new investment account. | I need to transfer my investment data (NOT just current list of equities) two different accounts into new investment account. The only option I found was to "Transfer Out"/"Transfer In" action - one position by one, manually; or automatically, by closing old account and selecting where equity positions should be transferred. However, "Transfer Out"/"Transfer In" is not transferring all actions (such as "Buy", "Sell", "Dividends", etc.). That makes all numbers like "Realized Gains", "Gain", "Total return", "Annualized Return" (and, I suspect, many more - Lots and Capital Gains, etc.) totally wrong. "Cut and Paste to Account..." and "Export" - "Import/Recover" do not work. What do I do? |
