Bills are part of the budget. You can't change that.

As Dick says, you can turn off budget for cash flow. My approach is
different. I include budget amounts in CFF, but almost all categories
that would add budget amounts are either created entirely by the
scheduled payments, or there are no scheduled payments. In short,
there is no overlap.

The exception is, as you describe, utilities. I could get anal (more
anal?) by creating 12 annual utility payments, one for each month.
That models the seasonal fluctuation. I don't. Instead, I do as you
do, and set custom amounts in the budget.

For utility categories alone, I don't have a scheduled bill. Only that
category affects my checking cash flow with budget entries. Lacking a
scheduled bill avoids duplication and the budgeted amounts show the
effect in CFF.

By turning off the Budgeted items in Customize Cash Flow Forecast. I find
that the secret to making this work is to have scheduled entries that
reflect what I think the spending--to budget--will likely be.

Default Cash forecasting, bills & advanced budget

Hello,
This is my first post here. Great forum!
I'm using Advanced Budgeting and having a problem with entries being doubled
in Cash Forecasting when I schedule a payment in the Bills section. Here is
an example:

I schedule my water bill as a recurring transaction. It is catagorized as
"Utilities:Water". In Budget, I show varying amounts for each month, as our
water bill will be higher in the summer than in the winter. Now, if I look in
Cash Forecasting, it lists both the scheduled amount and the amount in the
budget.

How can I use Cash Forecasting and still have the benefits of scheduling
bills and being able to work with a budget?

Thank you!
