Carl, I have the same problem. Tried your suggestion, did not work. Running
win98se & money 2000. File from floppy will not open when downloaded to
folder on desktop.Error cannot read file. When I try to load into Money,
error corrupt file or not Money file.
This problem occurs for both sets of my backup disks. Any suggestions would
be appreciated.

First write-protect the floppies if your backups are on floppy. I
would copy each file from a set of the backup floppies to the same
directory/folder. This will give you an extra backup and will
separate any problems of reading the floppy media from some other

The files will be named *d1.mbf, *d2.mbf, *d3.mbf and so on.

In WE, double click the *d1.mbf file. That should launch Money and
start the restore. When Money prompts for the next diskette, click

the first floppy and double click the *d1.mbf file. Change
diskettes when prompted.

You will have a chance to change the location or filename for where
the restored data will go. If this is a different computer, it is

after a major system crash my last 3 backups will not
restore due to corrupt file. Why didn't I get an error
when I was backing them up? Now what do I do? HELP!!!
