Default RE: VAT Setup

I have recently assisted the local pub landlord to create his accounts using
Money 2004 UK. I believe that 2004 was the first version to support VAT.
The accounting side is a bit basic, but it does provide facilities for
calculating and reporting VAT information.
A lot of the other more advanced products allow you to create invoices and
statements amongst other things. These do not seem too relevant to a small
local pub.

You need to specify
- "Enable support for VAT" in tools /options/categories.
- "VAT enabled" in account details for each account where VAT is required.
- The VAT rate for each Category or subcategory.
Hope this helps

You'll need the business version of Money. It lets you define all your
products and services, specifying which are taxed and at what rate.

The sticking point is that you'll have to do some research to find out
what version of Money Small Business is the latest for your country.
Microsoft has given up on new versions for anywhere but US and Canada, I
think.

If I were just starting out, I'd think seriosly about a higher-level
accounting package than Money to run a small business. Money Small
Business is just barely adequate for what I need to run my one-man
operation.

Default VAT Setup

Hi there, I'm setting up a small business and thinking of using Money (as I
have been using Money for my household accounts). But the challenge there is
to set VAT (or GST in New Zealand), automatic. How do I set this up in
Money? (First of all, my Money is Money 2000). Many thanks Pepelepiu.
