| If you really want faster performance and wish to stay with M2004 you can probably export all your accounts and then import them back into a new M2004 file. I did that a couple of years ago with M2002 and the speed improvement was very significant. The file is still a lot faster so far. Exporting then importing all your account data is a big job (took me a few days) but worth it to me. I tested all the new versions of Money up to 2006 and found them totally unacceptable so I intend to stay with M2002 forever. | Only two reasons comes to mind. A newer version would support downloads and online quotes and be supported in general longer. A version at least M07 would have the Nuke The Bills feature which *might* help the performance issues you describe more than Archiving ever could. Note, however, that Nuke The Bills is an extreme measure that takes a lot of preparation for and effort to recover from. | New to this group but have been using money since 1999. I found this group today after doing something I have never done before, archiving. Luckily, since I have good backups I was ultimately able to recover from that huge mistake. I attempted to archive because it does seem that money is so much slower than in the begining. Really appreciated that today as I was trying to move around to secure info for taxes. So, the question is would a move to a newer version be a good idea or is the 2004 version known to be a better product? Jim C |
