| Try turning off User Account Control in Vista, re-boot, then opening money and activating or registering as needed. Then turn UAC back on again. I concur but don't have more to offer. The registration should getrecorded properly with the run as admin and still be in place after that when run as non-admin. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| I've been thru the same crazy maze as Alan van der Vyver, with the same bad result. Thanks to Chris Cowles and Cal Learner for explaining RunAsAdministrator to get activation to succeed. Now, same as Alan, I have MyMoney.mny in User\(me)\Documents, I have full rights AND OWNERSHIP to the file and its folder. I've taken all the steps suggested by Cal in 12/8/07 post, except I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled. Still, when I start Money as me (not administrator), it thinks it has not been registered, and offers to do it then. BAD. When I RunAsAdministrator, it knows about the registration and goes right into Money. HELP! There must be a way to run Money as an ordinary user. As Cal said, you should not have to run as Administrator. |
