There is a link on the support pages somewhere for that specific purpose. I don't know where it is. Others will probably reply with that info. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() With the rumor of the merge with yahoo i guess that we will have to wait, on top of that the new realese of Vista and the replacement is on it's way. So ressource will be rare. My guess is Money will have to wait a little bit. Any idea where we can post request to Microsoft money team more directly? |

| Thanks' Cris I believe it is the closest thing i could have. I will take a look at the convertors. Cal editing the "QIF manually is good but too much work. Money is a database, it should be straigt forward when it come time to manipulate data. If suggestion could be made to microsoft it would be nice. Knowing that many peoples have work to find a workaround. Thanks' again "Chris Cowles" wrote: - quote - > "Luc" <Luc[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:00BBD828-166B-4E71-B335-8BCBD21AB54F[at]microsoft.com... > > Example i have a category that have related transaction that i need > > to > > transfert into a new Money file > Money can export accounts to QIF format but does not segregate the > export per category. > There is third party software available that exports from Excel to > QIF. There is third party software available that exports from Excel to QIF. Create a Transactions by Category report and use the Export to Microsoft Excel link in the left panel. From Excel, use one of the utilities referenced at http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?cat=3#Q8. I don't know if the category transactions report includes all the fields you need to import into another file, but you can play around with different reports. Most expense reports allow you to filter by category. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

If you don't want the whole contents of the first account, edit the QIF file with a text editor before Import to remove records you do not want included. Keep an extra copy/backup of the receiving file in case you want to undo something. Especially if you are editing, expect to want to do something over. |
