From Help-> About, write down your serial number and use that as your
product ID at

I tried all the methods, MS Money still says I need to upgrade to continue
to use online services (I get that message in the Reminders section), while
the Online Services Information tells me I'm running Money Plus Deluxe, with
online services activated until 1/19/2010.

Most online services appear to function -- all of the quotes, charts, news
and research web content is available through the Investing tab. But no
online quote update function from the home tab investment summary or the
portfolio manager works. When I select that update, I get the message I
initially described above.

See if http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899935/en-us gives you some
ideas.

Okay, I get what you mean now, but that still didn't do it. I had the same
problem as before.

That means to run it while logged in as administrator of your computer
and, if running Vista, you have to additionally right-click the
icon/menu item and select 'Run as administrator'.

I'm not sure what you mean -- administrator for my computer, or is there
some other set of permissions for the MS Money file I should be looking into?

Have you run it as adminstrator for at least one update since
upgrading? That may be necessary to get all the updates to stick.

Default Online services problem

I just bought MS Money Plus Deluxe,
upgrading from MS Money 2006.

Online services status (from the Tools menu) says I'm active until
1/19/2010, but my stock prices won't update. When I click Update Online
Quotes, I get an Update Status pop up that says Update Not Complete, with a
link to Learn More. That tells me that my online services have expired....

What am I doing wrong?
