Default Re: Alternatives to MS Money?

Michael
You might want to take a look at MoneyDance at www.moneydance.com. I
downloaded a trial and imported some money files which worked ok. Active
support forum also.
I did upgrade from M06 to plus and have had no issue with it. The changes
from M06 were not worth it to me so I looked at it as the price for two more
years of updates.

Default Alternatives to MS Money?

I was an - in principle happy - user of Money 2005. Recently, however,
the online update support for Money 2005 expired and so I can no longer
update funds and stock values automatically any more.

I thus considered MS' suggested update path and downloaded the trial
version of "Money Plus". I installed it but strange enough that program
doesn't even start up, i.e. after double clicking it's icon (or
selecting the start menu entry), simply nothing happens, there is no
window opening, no disk activity, nothing... I was able to find a
process "msmoney.exe" in task manager, but that process sits there with
zero CPU apparently hanging or waiting for something, no idea...

So, since the official money replacement doesn't work: what are my
options? I also installed a trial version of Quicken, but that doesn't
allow me to properly import my existing money file (one needs to export
individual accounts to .qif files and can then import these into
Quicken, but with 15+ different accounts and "investments" this is not
only a most cumbersome untertaking, but also looses lots of information
and inter-account references along the way, so I considered that path as
not an option).

Are there other programs that do better job in importing MS Money files
and cotinuing from there?

I realize, that this is probably not the mosr optimal forum to ask this
question, but nevertheless: any experiences and suggestions would be
welcome!

Michael
