I am running M2007 Premium. Have the lost portfolio coumns problem. MS
Money not helpful, but it was "reassuring" to know that I am not the only
one. Don't think I will upgrade to M2008 to solve this problem. I do agree,
a real PIA.

One thing I will mention. I wasn't one of those whose 2006 was very slow.
Mine was quick enough; I had no complaints. Even so, although I haven't
actually measured it, 2008 certainly seems faster. That's nice. That and bug
fixes (I assume that the porfolio view problem wasn't the only one they
fixed) make the upgrade desirable.

As I am sure you know, Money doesn't convert backwards, so you are stuck with
upgrading. Please let us know if Money Plus (aka M2008) continues to fix
this problem for you. My experience with this odd behavior was with M2007.
If Money Plus really fixes it, it would be one (maybe the only) reason to
upgrade.

I would check to see if the customizations stick in a new, dummy .mny
file. If they do, you know the problem is in your data file, and
reinstalling won't help. If they don't stick, then the problem is in

I am still unable to customize any view. No changes ever get saved, with the
exception that some get erased like the Portfolio view did.

Should I reinstall? Should I monkey around in the registry, try to find
whichever keys this involves and delete them, hoping for an error-free
rebuild?

Yes, I have also had this happen and it is a definite PITA. It was awhile
ago, but as I remember I did a file repair and then I was able to customize
the views again. The other option is to restore a backup from before the
problem occurred.

I concluded that this is one of Money's many quirks and have kept my
performance views very simple to avoid a recurrence.
