A few weeks back, in order to test some work I was doing in IE (I'm a web developer) I reset a few security settings in IE. Apparently MS Money uses IE to connect to the web to sync your bank information. To solve this here is what I did: From IE browser: > Tools > Security Tab > Trusted Sites > Sites Button > add a zone called msn.com into text box and hit add button now ok to close and then apply if need be. NOTE: I did not go to the trouble to work out 'which settings' cause Money to not be able to synchronize but this would be handy to know (unlikely any MSN folks are moderating this so we'll probably never know) |

I'm still using Microsoft Money 2004 and suddenly about 2 or 3 weeks ago it stopped being able to login with Passport. As recently as last weekend I would have to switch the radio button to say that I didn't need Passport and online features just so I could still be able to access my account data on my local computer. Nearly everyday I clean out my browsing history (temp files, etc.) and that didn't fix it. Well this weekend it's suddenly working again. I can leave the "use Passport" radio button checked and I can login just fine. So to me that looks like they fixed something on their end. Regards, ImageAnalyst |

| As I suspected... found a KB article which states to use IE and delete your temp Internet files and cookies. Once I did this, login now working. Thanks Microsoft for yet ANOTHER patch that gives MSM problems. | I've seen posts from a week ago or so from others having the same problem as me. I can not get MSM2006 to go online with my hotmail/passport account. I am able to log into my hotmail email account successfully. I seem to recall this happening a few years ago when MS released a XP update that broke something. Does anyone know what change or patch I need to get past this login problem? Regards, Mike P.S. I am able to login offline but I need to download my bank transactions. |
