I'm running Money 2007 and within the last six months my file--over
seven years old--has cahnged itself to a temp file. It's named
mbfED.tmp. I've tried to rename it to a regular money file and it
will not open and I need to restore the back-up and it opens again
with this name. I've also tried to re-name the back-up and it does
the same thing. I've also tried to repair it with the Money repair
utility and as soon as I selct repair Money closes automatically.

I'm thinking of just starting a new file but I have so much data I
want to keep...
