Yes, that is kind of what I figured. I'll wait till Money 2009 comes
out and see if it will convert Q 2008.

A given version of Money typically converts Quicken's previous
version. Also, a new version of Money typically is released annually.
If you want to convert your current data from Quicken to Money, don't
upgrade to the next version of Quicken. Wait until the next version of
Money is available before deciding which way to go.

Now I see how it works. However I am going to stick with Quicken
since Money does not convert my Quicken 08 files at this time. It
would be a terrible job to reconstruct and correct manually. Thanks
for your help.

Thank you, I'll give it a try

If you installed the Essentials trial, uninstall and install Deluxe
trial.

Set
Tools-> Settings-> AccountSettings(global)-> DisplayAllAccountsInTheAdvancedRegister

Check to track cash transactions in account Details.

Write checks etc from Cash Transactions of broker account.

If you mean to link the investment account to a checking account not
at the same bank, Money doesn't have the same functionality. If you
mean a checking account at the broker, associated with the investment
account, Money can do that. I haven't used Quicken so don't know if
it's the same, though.

On the investment account setup page, check the box to "Track cash
transactions". That creates a linked bank account specific to that
investment account. If you have multiple investment accounts at a
single broker, there is no single cash account for all of them.

Cash-related transactions in the investment account default to using
the linked account, but don't have to. You can change the cash account
for a specific transaction in the investment register, including
directing it into your separate checking account.

If you have check-writing privileges on a broker MMA, for example, you
must set up the associated investment account to track cash
transactions. You can't write checks directly out of an investment
account - you can do that only from the cash account.

Default Checking link to brokerage account.

Quicken has a linked account that automatically transfers transaction
between brokerage and checking. I have downloaded the free trial of
Money since Quicken 2008 seems a little buggy. I do not see a way to
link accounts. Is it possible?
