That's what this DW> page seems to say. help/about in my money 2008 says: This copy will expire on 8/23/2009. that is, exactly two years after it was installed. This licensing model appears as highly unethical to me. |

| Be aware that eventually MS will pull the plug on earlier versions such that if in doing a server upgrade or similar to benefit purchasers of later version or to fix a problem and, in the course of doing so, they "break" your M2003 then they will not fix it. This happened once in the past. ISTR M98 got broken by an update that benefited M2004 - could have the versions wrong but you get my drift. As a rule of thumb MS stop supporting a version 18 months after the release of the succeeding version. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for. | The page: http://www.microsoft.com/money/Produ...s.aspx?pid=002 &active_tab=Compare says that for Money 2007 Plus, the ability to download bank statements will be available for 2 years. (Exact text below.) Money Essentials says 1 year. MS Money can't stop the bank's Web site from generating an OFX or QIF file, but of course the product could refuse to import the file 2 years after activation. I have been downloading OFX files from my bank, into MS Money 2003 for about 5 years now. Question: If I upgraded to Money 2007 or 2008, would I be forced to upgrade again in 2 years, whether I wanted to or not? That's what this page seems to say. Maybe I should stay on Money 2003 forever, right? David Walker Here's what the above site says: For Microsoft Money Plus, online services available for two (2) years after activation, or Jan. 31, 2011, whichever is earlier. Online services, subject to limited availability, include but are not limited to the abilities to (i) download your financial institution’s statements and obtain stock quotes; and (ii) synchronize your client-based data with MSN Money. Certain online services and options may only be obtained separately from your financial institution(s), with or without a fee, so please contact your financial institution for details. Microsoft reserves the right to modify or discontinue these online services at any time. See the Microsoft Money Pus online services policy located at http://www.microsoft.com/money/onlin...es_policy.mspx and in the product for details. See www.microsoft.com/money/onlinebanks for a list of financial institutions that provide connectivity to enable the download of statements into Microsoft Money Plus.
