It matters if MS wants it to matter, and that's determined by what the> would > matter since it was bought for one household. I haven't read the details because I've only installed it once, but I think the language supports laptop install for portable use. It doesn't support multiple installs for one family. As MS does specifically allow that for products such as OneCare and Office for Home and Students, I don't think they intend to do that for Money. Go with Steve's advice about calling MS after uninstalling from the home PC and attempting to install on the laptop. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

When you activate, you give hardware information to Microsoft (e.g. how> would matter since it was bought for one household. If I just > uninstall it on my home pc, will that clear the license? much RAM, CPU serial number, hard drive model), and they keep it in their database to compare against in the future. That's why if you significantly upgrade your PC, you might have to reactivate. If you call Microsoft and explain the situation, they will unregister one of your PCs and allow you to register another. At least that's what they do with OS registrations. You might have to beg a little. Don't mention that you were using it improperly. Let them ask if they want. Just go through the installation procedure. One of the activation options is to call Microsoft. -- Steve B. New Life Home Improvement |

Also, I think the intent of the allowance for multiple installs is that it won't be used simultaneously. It sounds to me that two people are using it simultaneously (or not) on different data failes. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| I just bought money plus and installed it on my pc and my husband's pc. Both activated fine. However, I will now be going out of town a lot and want to put money plus on my laptop. Since I can only activate it on 2 systems, how can I deactivate it on my pc so I can activate it on my laptop instead? |
