"...And still nothing from Microsoft Technical support...."

Does that mean that you have gotten response but that they haven't been able
to resolve it yet?
Or does that mean that you haven't seen any responses at all? (Check your

To isolate where the problem is (file, installation, or user) can
you do Help-> PrivacyStatement in that new file as the new user?

If you copy Sample.mny from your install folder to your
MyDocuments folder, can you open that and do Help-> Privacy Statement
successfully?

Thanks! The new Administrator user account did the trick of triggering the
Money update. Now I'm at 1303.

Unfortunately, Money is still closing if I do a Help-> Privacy Statement, in
addition to other Help and File commands.

You may have already tried this, but if not, try creating a new XP
user with Administrator privilege.
Switch to that user. Create a new Money file without a LiveId on it.
See if the updates happen, and see how that file works.

I tried methods 5 and 4 and Money still closes when doing any number of
simple menu commands, like Help-> Privacy Statement for example.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Perhaps it is a firewall or permissions issue. See methods 5 and 4
of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899935/en-us

While logged in to your computer as administrator, run an online
update. That should retrieve any software updates that are due, if
any.

Default Upgrade from 16.0.120.621 to 16.0.120.1303?

I'm currently running Money 2007 16.0.120.621 under XP SP2. I've seen posts
that reference a later version 16.0.120.1303.

How can I get the update?

I'm having all sorts of issues with Money closing if I do the simplest
things like the menu command Help-> Privacy Statement. I'm hoping an update
will resolve it.

Not much luck with Microsoft Technical support
