Although the dropdown menu appears to only contain 3 printers, if you scroll
in the right, I think you'll see your printer.

Thanks again, Dick. Yes I have the printers, including
this print file set up properly. But as I said, under
Money 04, Printer setup for checks, the only printers
showing up are my primary laser printer, and two Winfax
printers. Under Printer setup for Reports, all the
printers show up.

Have you setup a new operating system printer queue (you say "I have the
file setup"--a file is not a print queue) that prints to a file as I
suggested? Have you looked in Money File|Print Setup|Check setup after
having created this printer? I see every printer I can see in Start|Printers
& Faxes in the pull-down in Money File|Print Setup|Check setup.

I'm assuming you are using M04.

Maybe you should consider opening a support request directly with Microsoft?

Thank you for trying to help. I have the file set up, I
havebeen using it with Quicken. EVen though I have four
printers associated with the computer, direct, or
networkedm the only printer options I see for checks is
my default printer. I have changed my default printer,
and each one shows up when it is the default only, except
gor the generic file. The other two that show up are two
fax printers, which I don't even have.<gFiguring out how to get the .prn file to show up is
apparently going to be the trick I have to learn.

You'll have to setup a printer queue that prints to a file and then setup
Money (File|Print Setup|Check Printing, I think is the menu choice) to use
this printer for printing your checks. Setting up a printer this way is an
operating system level problem.

In WinXP, you'd do this by Start|Printers & Faxes|Add a printer|Local
printer|...port: FILE and so on.

Default Printing Checks to Generic Printer / Test File

I am trying to convert to Money from Quicken. I use
special software to printer my checks. I Quicken I could
print my checks to a generic Test file. I cannot select
that output file from the printer options available from
the Money Print Checks Menu. Can someone help me get an
output file setup up as a printer option.

This issue may be the show stopper for my using Money

Thanks in advance
