After you install Money on the laptop, you will only need to copy
your *.mny file, usually via USB flash drive, to your
Documents/MyDocuments folder on the laptop. Then open Money by
double-clicking the *.mny file from within Windows Explorer.

However it would be wise to copy a few of your latest *.mbf files
over too, in case you get media failure.

Hi Rod,

Install money on your laptop and open it.

Copy your money file from desktop to a location on the laptop.

In money, click File, then click Open, in the Open dialog window navigate to
the above location, select it and click Open.

Money should now display all your financial records.

Hope this helps,
Ken

Yes. You will need to either restore a backup (*.mbf) or copy your
*.mny file to the laptop.

Retail licenses are allowed desktop+laptop installation under specific
circumstances. That should not be an usse,

I recommend against backup/restore. Just copy the data file and open it.

Default Temporarily moving my Money account from a desktop to a laptop

I've got to take my desktop PC apart, for some house repairs that are being
done. The desktop PC has all of our financial records in MS Money Plus, the
new version of Money for 2008. I intend to install Money Plus onto my
laptop. Will all I have to do, in order to get all of our financial records
onto the laptop, is take the most recent MS Money backup file and run a
recovery in MS Money Plus on the laptop?
