Money 2000 will not open a Money 2003 backup file. You would have to> try to open it it says the password is incorrect. install Money 2003 or later. If you mean that you have the same problem except [.........], it is probable that the version of Money you installed is earlier than your backup file that you think comes from Money 2003. - quote - > "Dan" wrote: > > Hi, I recently had to format my hard drive, of course before I did, I made > > backups of everything so I could restore all my stuff. | I have the same problem trying to restore a Money 2000 .mbf backup file. Did you get a solution to this problem? | Hi, I recently had to format my hard drive, of course before I did, I made backups of everything so I could restore all my stuff. I did this with Money. I backed up, and then copied the backup file to my external hard drive. Once my computer was back up and running, I re-installed Money 2000 and copies and pasted the backup file back into my computer, in the same place Money places backup files. But when I try to restore the backup, it asks me for a password. It does this whether I try to restore it from my external drive, or from my computer. Now, I did use a password to open up money before I did the format, and I did set it up to require the same password to open it up after re-installing, but when I enter that password, it just tells me my password is incorrect!! I've only ever used one password!! Can you help? I need to restore all my information. I basically use Money as a checkbook balancer, and I have 3 bank accounts I use regularly by downloading the banking info direct from my bank's website. I'm talking about years of deposit and withdrawal entries.... Help!! Thanks in advance. Dan -- Dan |
