Ahhh, now I see (I think). We're using different definitions for
"Cleared".

Delete the transaction and re-enter it. Re-sync with the bank. Money
will add the transaction back, and you can match it properly.

Doesn't work. (It's an "E", actually -- presumably because it was an
Electronic payment. In any case, I can't unclear it.)

Right-click the "C" in the Cleared column and change the transaction to
uncleared.

Default accidentally approved match

I'm using Money 2007 Premium.

I have an outstanding check to my brother-in-law Kevin for $1000.00.

Yesterday, I downloaded my recent transactions from my bank. Included was a
cash withdrawal I had made at the bank for $1000.00 -- the equal amount
being a complete coincidence.

Money didn't show a payee for that withdrawal and asked if it were the same
transaction as the outstanding check to my brother-in-law for the same
amount. It asked me to approve or reject a match between the two
transactions.

I accidentally clicked "approve" and Money instantly marked the outstanding
check to my brother-in-law as Cleared.

Now it refuses to let me edit the payee, since it is a "cleared"
transaction.

Is there any way to reverse my error and reinstate the check to my
brother-in-law as "outstanding" while properly identifying the cash
withdrawal? My books are a little messed up now because of this,
particularly because my bank is investigating the non-arrival of the check
at my brother-in-law's house (otherwise an unrelated incident).
