Do you have many unaccepted transactions??!?

Perhaps because they started viewing Money as a web portal site where the
time they get you to dwell looking at their page (and the ads, etc.) might
be money to them?

Thanks, and yes I have heard of the Nuke the Bills task. The only severe
problem I had was at program startup that was resolved by removing "Spending
Tracker" from the Home page (thankful tip I got from this forum). I really
miss it and want it back.

The 3 - 10 second delays in the match my transactions to the downloaded ones
is killing me. I have noticed several lesser delays in other areas of the
program and I just want my time back.

How did Microsoft get the old adage "time is money" so backwards!

Well, I am happy it is working for you and the way you use the program.

I suspect the features in the releases since your prior 2002 version, are
the ones the rest of us have become accustomed to working "snappier".

The Norton Undo was a joke! I do run Symatec Anti-Virus and have for years
and under Vista, Money 2007 had no problems with the same anti-virus program.

The problem is with Money Plus 2008. I am one of many who have reported
performance problems and Microsoft needs to fix it soon.

Try un-installing Norton/Symantec and see if things work better. I
suspect all will be fine.

It's probably Norton that's slowing down Money Plus and the rest of your
Vista machine as well.

I just upgraded from Money 2002 to Money Plus Deluxe (version 17). I don't
notice any slowness. It's just about as snappy as the old version.

> Money Plus stinks on XP as well...

I'm running it in Windows XP SP2 on an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (1.8 GHz
throttled back to 1.2 GHz) single processor with 1 gigabyte of memory. The
hard drive is a serial ATA Seagate Barracuda. The file size isn't small; I
work with about 10 years of financial data. I usually have Outlook Express,
the Firefox browser and a Visual Studio Express C++ IDE open at the same
time.

I have no complaints about the speed.

I won't defend the product--particularly as regards performance--but many
upgraders have found that Nuke The Bills solves severe performance (and, in
my case, stability) problems for at least a while. YMMV.

Why we have to do this rather than Money knowing how to fix the problems it
creates in your data file all by itself is another question for which we
have no good answer.

Have you heard of/tested Nuke The Bills?

See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=187 for more information.

Default Money 2008 Plus - IMHO: Do Not Buy or Upgrade

I have used Money for 5+ years and have upgraded each year to the new version
and was always pleased. Well, that ended this year!

Let alone the slowness throughout the whole program, there is absolutely
nothing new in this years version excpet for Insights, an external reminder
program that I recall something like it being in a prior version that must
not been used much since it was dropped from the package until this year.

I know the work-arounds since I was forced to use them to make the program
even usuable, so please no "let me help" make things better replies.

At first I thought the problems in the program was Vista and took too long
to discover it was this slow pig of an upgrade, or I would have went back to
the 2007 year version. I still may uninstall and redo everything beacuse once
again I have a little more transaction volume than normal and getting the
transaction match pick screen to display is taking forever. I am so mad right
now.

Why is this? How did the the programmers find away to make the overal total
performance so bad. How did the QA Management team ever let this product out
the door. I am running this on a dual core machine with 2 gigs of ram with
nothing else running. Sure Vista has some issues, but from everything I have
read, Money Plus stinks on XP as well, and I ran Money 2007 on this same
Vista box for over 6 months without and issues.

I just wish Norton/Symantec would have written "Money Plus 2008 Undo" and I
could easily get the prior version back on my system without having to
re-entry and resolve the last 60 days. Yes, I am frustrated and Mad as H3LL!

Until Microsoft fixes the overall slowness of this program, which they have
not, STAY AWAY. It is not worht the pain and frustration.
