| Yes. Most recently, I installed Money Plus and it won't let me log in "off line" either. My 2004 CD is unreadable, so I cannot reinstall it and am trying to log in through the backup file. | Thanks Cal, Tried that, however the software won't even let me log in "off line", so I can't remove pass port...any idea when a patch will be made available so I can access the software for my tax records? Or can I install a new copy of Money with a new user name and passport and import my old records into that system? I need to close out my end of year financial information and must access this software to do so. Any help would be appreciated. | I am also having problems accessing the software using my live ID. I reviewed the article you referenced below. However, when I try to log in "off line", it still tells me my user name and password are wrong. So I went out yesterday and bought a newer version of the software, installed it this morning, and am still unable to access it. I am about to take the whole thing back and change to quicken unless someone can give me a solution as to how to access this program with or without my live ID. Any assistance would be appreciated "Bob Peel, MVP" wrote: - quote - > It is always a good idea to read previous posts. | With the greatest respect - stop fiddling - you may only make things irretrievably worse. Just keep an eye on the link I posted. MS are well aware of the problem and have been working on a solution since they first noticed it. Because of the need to do a large amount of regression testing it is not easy to forecast when the problem will be fixed. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Bob, there seems to be an additional problem, the program is corrupting the file on shut down, and the file cannot be signed into offline with or without a password, error messages are coming back that the file is not a money file. I have reconstructed three back up files in the past four days. Microsoft has not acknowledged this problem. I am using a money file from before 2004 converted into money plus 2007 on both windows xp and windows vista ( two machines) and the problem reoccurs on both operating systems. In addition, the back up files also become corrupt, hence the need to reconstruct. I have one saved from before the December 17 server upgrade. | FYI, I'm seeing the same problem with Fidelity. The root cause for me (reported in a posting yesterday) was transactions being accepted from a Fidelity update caused Money (both 2006 and 2007) to corrupt the file. Money is killing itself. It's nothing to do, far as I can tell with background banking, updates, or anything related to http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...orkStatus.aspx, and using Money Repair function has no affect. I think it's called a "bug" in Money that allows it to kill itself. I see it happening in both 2006 and 2007 versions. See my other posting at http://groups.google.com/group/micro...1c5aecab1e0ca? (I hope this the right URL). In summary, I got around the problem by re-creating the Fidelity accounts and then when I updated, instead of getting all transactions, i only asked for current positions. I don't remember the exact nomenclature. Cross fingers, I seem to be back in business. But the bug remains, and will remain, I'm sure. Pity. |

Is there an error message?> that causes it to close. I've tried both repair functions with no luck. What version of Money are you using? If the problem occurs immediately upon opening, you might want to try turning off background banking and clicking when you want to get updates. |

| For the past week, everytime I try to open my MS Money fie I get an error that causes it to close. I've tried both repair functions with no luck. I think I've narrowed down that the issue comes from downloading account updates from Fidelity as I have restored a back up and tested all other changes. After money shuts down on me, I get left with an .LRD file that contains the following phrase... ilihP.elpoepebot I have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it. anyone know what to do?? Thanks, Chuck |
