You could shortcut step 3-5 by only deleting transactions in the copy that post-date where you are sure you did not have the problem. Then in step 3-9, delete the entries that cover the dates that you did not delete the transactions for. The problem is probably related to one or more scheduled transactions. - quote - > John > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, john9872 wrote: > > > > Ending balance & todays balance are OK (i.e. they are correct to what my > > > account balance actually is) > > > It's the value of my account in the home screen that is incorrect. > > > Please confirm what you mean by changing the views in account register and I > > > will check that. > > > At the top of the register is says "View" with a drop-down list. > > > Select AllTransactions, UnreconciledTransactions, etc. > > > > > > > John > > > > > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > > > > > In microsoft.public.money, john9872 wrote: > > > > > > > > Thanks, I can now log on OK. > > > > > Balance on my home screen is still different than the actual balance shown > > > > > in my account register. > > > > > > > Did you understand the bit about changing the View in the register? > > > > > > > By "actual balance" do you mean "Ending balance" or "Today's > > > > Balance", or maybe they are the same. > > > > > > > While http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838713 specifies Money 2005, > > > > it also applies to your Money 2004. | Thanks. If I change view to un-reconciled transactions only, the ending balance now matches the balance shown on the home screen. However, the value of the un-reconciled transactions in no way matches the difference between my actual balance and that which is shown on my home screen. | Ending balance & todays balance are OK (i.e. they are correct to what my account balance actually is) It's the value of my account in the home screen that is incorrect. Please confirm what you mean by changing the views in account register and I will check that. Did you understand the bit about changing the View in the register?> Balance on my home screen is still different than the actual balance shown > in my account register. By "actual balance" do you mean "Ending balance" or "Today's Balance", or maybe they are the same. While http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838713 specifies Money 2005, it also applies to your Money 2004. If the balance in your register changes as you change the View in the register, you would end up at method 3. Also, upgrading should make that problem go away. - quote - > John > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, john9872 wrote: > > > > Repair money file did not work. > > > Now I cannot logon with my windows passport ID! > > > Balance on my home screen is still different than the actual balance shown > > > in my account register. > > > Log in offline for now. | But I have no pending deposits until the end of January! It has only recently (last month or so) started to be out - prior to this it would display my actual balance (i.e. what was shown when I went into an account) All my other accounts are fine... | Hi there. I am using Money Deluxe Version 12.0 My home page lists my favourite accounts, however the balance shown for my current account is not the actual balance of the account! It seems to be out by several hundred pounds! When I go into the account, the balance shown at the bottom of the screen is correct, but not on my home screen. Any ideas? Thanks John |
