| I have also been "locked out" for several days and have been monitoring these posts. I tried to log in offline using my old and new passwords. I still am not able to log in to 2004 Money. I am able to log into Live using new password. Any suggetions would be very helpful Thanks "Bob Peel, MVP" wrote: - quote - > If you cannot sign in using offline mode you MUST use the same password that > last worked on that file. | If you cannot sign in using offline mode you MUST use the same password that last worked on that file. It does not matter what version of Money you use. The file contents are encrypted using the password that last worked. If you’ve changed the Windows Live ID password, and cannot connect, Money will not know that the password has been changed. You can’t un-encrypt the file unless you use the last working password. Uninstalling and re-installing Money has no effect on the encryption of the file. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | The issue with Money 2004 is listed at this site regarding signing with passport: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...rkStatus.aspx? Problems signing into older versions of Money When: December 27, 2007 Effect: We are currently investigating a problem where you may have problems signing into Money 2002-2004 (or Money 2002-2004 files that were recently converted to a newer version of Money). Until there is a fix available, you can try the following: If you have not changed your password, sign into Money in "offline" mode. If you changed your password, sign in "offline" mode using your previous (original) password. Once you have successfully signed into your Money file, remove the Windows Live ID from the file, convert the file to a newer version of Money and then re-add the Windows Live ID. If you have already converted your file to newer version, sign into Money in "offline" mode. Change the Windows Live ID (Passport) to the exact same Windows Live ID (using your current password). Sign into Money in "offline" mode and use Money in offline mode until there is a fix available. Hope this helps Bert "C Tate" wrote: - quote - > I use money 2004. | I use money 2004. When I tried to login yesterday I got a message telling me login was unsuccessful. For some time my account has been password protected by linking it to passport (Windows). I cannot understand why this has happened. I have now changed my windows live password and am able to login to hotmail etc. However, I still cannot login to Money. I have now completed deleted Money from my PC and reinstalled the software. I tried to restore my backup but it is still asking me for a password. I am now getting highly irritated as all my accounts for several years are on the backup. I have deleted all temp files, cookies etc from my browser. No success. Please advise as a matter of urgency. |
