now.

Shows you what I know. I've never put "Important Dates" on my home page.

So I added "Important Dates" to my home page.

No Important Dates box showed up.

So I went into Alerts Center | AdvisorFYI and on the Important Dates tab,
added today as an Important Date with notation Test This.

Now I have an Important Date box on my home page.

So I clicked on Customize... and edited my 1/5/08 Important Date to 1/12/08.

Still shows in the Important Dates box as 1/5/08.

So I navigated to an account and back.

No Important Dates box.

So I went into Alerts Center|AdvisorFYI and on the Important Dates tab,
edited my 1/12/08 Important Date to 1/11/08.

No Important Dates box.

So I went into Alerts Center|AdvisorFYI and on the Important Dates tab,
edited my 1/11/08 Important Date to 1/10/08.

No Important Dates box.

So I navigated to an account and back.

Now I have an Important Date box on my home page.

So I went into Alerts Center|AdvisorFYI and on the Important Dates tab,
edited my 1/10/08 Important Date to 1/11/08.

And I navigated to an account and back.

No Important Dates box.

So I went to Tools | Settings | Bills Settings and set the reminder for 10
days.

Back to the home page, back to an account page, back to the home page.

No Important Dates box.

I conclude:

1) The Important Dates box is hard-coded to a five day reminder window.
2) The Important Dates box is pretty lame.
3) If I really wanted to track an Important Date, I'd find a better way than
Money AdvisorFYI | Important Dates to do it

Now, back to your issue: are your Important Dates that aren't showing within
the next five days? If yes, then we still have an issue, if no, then I don't
think Money is designed to show them just yet.

I do not know if I have the Advisor FYI modile on the home page. How do I
check this?

At the Home Page I have clicked 'Customise content or Layout then added
"Important Dates". When returning to the Home Page, nothing is displayed
even though under Alert Centre> Expert Assistant alterts> Important Dates tab,
the boxes have been ticked. Do you know what I am missing out?

Yes, I could use Outlook as you've suggested. I will take a look at your
approach about getting quarter etc. reminders.

Do you have the Advisor FYI module on the home page? I'm betting this is
where these reminders will show.

I'm betting that if the UI for Advisor FYI Important Dates only allows
annual, that's what it allows. Can you set up your Every 6 months/ quarter
items as two/four separate items???

Do you use Outlook? Tasks in Outlook are FAR MORE configurable than about
anything in Money.

I'm not sure what you mean by 6 monthly reminders.

I see bill reminders in the "Bills and Deposits" control on my home page.
For this to work, I must have the setting [Tools|Settings|Bill
Settings|Bills: Remind me x days in advance of a due bill] set with x equal
to something like my 5 days. I also used Advanced Bills.

Have tested this feature with a date to tomorrow, for example. With Expert
Assistant (All) selected on the Home Page, there is no reminder showing?

Can do this be set to 6 monthly reminders?

«Yes it would be easier but Money does not have any 'reminder' features that
I know of that would tell you to skip.» But you *can* set up reminders that
will appear on your Home Page.

Not very intuitive BUT (at least in M2007, I'm sure it's similar in other
versions):
Using Customize your Home Page, add the Important Date box.
Then: Tools> Settings> Alerts Center> Advisor FYI (click on Customize My
Advisor FYI
Alerts). Then chose the Important Dates tab and set up any reminders you
want via the Add button.

The one issue with this is that it messes up cash flow forecasting. One way
around is to edit the "to be skipped" instances to zero amount.

Yes it would be easier but Money does not have any 'reminder' features that
I know of that would tell you to skip. So it seems I have to keep a
separate record to remind myself to do this. The problem is that if you
have a few to do at different times of the year, then it's time consuming.

Wouldn't it be just as easy to have the bill continue and just right
click the ones to skip.

If you don't terminate the bill, you can edit it once you get the
notice.

Short of editing each bill series, no.

Is there anyway of knowing which Bills have been setup to End at some time?
eg. display appropriate column in Bill Summary (eg. Memo, Date of
Transaction, No. of remaining transactions). I am unable to find anything.

IF you let the last in a series enter in the register, it does delete it.

The workarounds:

1) Before you enter the last in the series by hand, edit the series to the
new choices for the next go-round plus one occurrence. Then Enter the first
occurrence as it should be NOW.

2) Let it enter, then go to the register where it entered, r-click on the
last transaction from the series that just ended, Add to Bills and Deposits.
Edit the one you are adding for the next go-round. This will save you from
entering many of the specifics.

Default "This bill will end at some time"...

Please can you confirm the behaviour : Once "This bill will end at some
time" is completed, after the "Date of Transaction", the Bill will
automatically be deleted from the Bill Summary.

Is there anyway to use this option, but not have the Bill deleted? The
reason is that the payments may end after 10 payments but then break for 2
months, then resume for another 10 payment at a higher payment. Also, in
another instance, insurance payments maybe set for 12 payments for the 1st
year, in this case, I would "End the bill" on the 12 payment, then wait for
notification of the next years payment, then continue with the next 12
payments. Here, I found the Bill is deleted and I have to setup a new Bill.

Thank you.
