Money will do that. How well it performs depends on how rigorous you
are about making entries.

The transactions will download from your bank with no payee or
category. You then edit each one to apply the payee and category you
want.

If you only download the data from your bank, you'll have to enter the
payee each time, unless your bank is unusually kind and puts the data
in the download for you. Money assumes you'll enter the transactions
yourself as you make them, entering the payee each time, then it
"matches" your manual entries with data from the bank. Money will copy
data from the last entry for each payee to the new transaction, saving
you from having to do too much typing. If you only download the data,
it may or may not have the payee field filled. If it isn't filled,
you'll have to do the editing yourself each time.

It sounds like you don't need Money's features. If I were in your place,
I'd just enter the data into a spreadsheet and use it to draw a graph.
All you'll need are columns named "Date", "Amount", and "Category". Even
free spreadsheets, will let you make a graph.

Default I would like to know if this can be done with Money 2000

I know Money has many features but I am only interested in one, that is
being able to download my bank data to Money and have Money give me stats on
where I am spending my money. For example I would like it to show me that I
spend $200 a week on Food, $100 at the grocery store and $100 at
restaurants. I will not be adding any income nor trying to balance
anything, I just want to have a actuate account of where I am using my
credit card.

Can I use Money to do this and ignore all the other features and have it do
a descent job at it.

Thanks
