| It worked! I had tried that before and it still wanted a password and then it told me "the password you entered is incorrect." So I got a new password (twice), but still no go. But just now I put in the OLD password (which originally would not let me in) and now I was able to open it. Weird. Thank you Obi Wan! | I also am unable to log in to Money 2004 and unfortunately the file that needs to be opened is for my homeowners' association (of which I am the Treasurer). We are about to have an annual meeting, and I need to produce balance sheets, etc. Hopefully SOMEONE at Microsoft is reading these threads and will advise soon. | I hope this problem can be solved soon or I am going to switch to another program. I don't have time to have my checkbook and accounts in a suspended state for very long. As of now I am using Excel to keep some semblence of order and to keep my records going but this is really terrible bind to be in. In case MS hasn't realized it, this is the most active time of the year for most everyone's business and personal accounts. If anyone has any influence with MS please use it. | Followup to msg on Tue, 25 Dec 2007 11:29:00 -0800, jslash4 <jslash4[at]discussions.microsoft.com> : (Original msg on bottom) As you wrote, many of us here around have the same problem. Suddenly we cannot login on web services for MS Money. Few clear points I collected around: 1) the same problem occurred several years ago and MS people had a lot to work to settle it. An info filtered out , the cause was a mistake moving a database within some MS jobs 2) it's useless try to solve with rush operations as change password, delete passwords, change edition or similar things. Passport or Live Passwport login works for other services: doent work for Money. 3) It's useless to ask for help as MVP people is not informed about what really is happened and Official MS people, present during this Xmas period, they answer "like a procedure book" ... Ask support or Your copy has no more suppor, pls upgrade etc etc This is happening all around the world .. not only in US (I am in Italy ..) 4) the most probable cause may be a "copy" of what happened years ago .... but related to Windows Live new product operations. As Windows Live ought to include the old Windows passport passwords etc. Now we all have to wait till after Xmas vacations to better undestand what MS People (back to work) are going to do on this matter. Lucky are those of us who may open Money without the use of Web services. The others ought not go into hysteria, wait and ... take it easy ! | I was unable to login using passport to retrieve my *.mny file after 3 years of flawless use. Then about 12/22/07 was unable to access the file using Money 2004. I went through the gyrations of chainging my password on my passprt account, etc. even though it would log in outside of Money, but to no avail. I then upgraded to Money Plus Deluxe in an effort to resolve the issue, but again to no avail. I am even unable to access the file off-line with the Money password for the account. After reading your posts here I realize many of you are experiencing the same problem. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. |
