Thanks for your sugestion. A good security process. However, as the Net
Passport facility appears to be in operation again I will stick to ths. BTW I
backup my Money file every two weeks to a floppy and every few days to my
laptop.

Something must have happened in the land of Money, MSN or Microsoft to have
this flaw suddenly in the Money system. The good news is that all appears
well now.

Hello Everybody,

It is now over 4weeks since i reoprted the login failure. I am please dto
say that I can now login with my passport. Thanks for everybody's support.

My 2004 version is OK .. oops .. was OK until this last failure of
the system. I can easily get my data from the bank and update
quotations on the web. I had also all data syncronized on the web so I
may check them when out of home. Now I cannot do this through my PC
Money, but I can enter web data directly on Web UK Money, as there the
passport works fine.

I will wait MS People repair this failure as I have read now they are
aware of the problem.

The M2005 UK version may be older than the US ones, but it is hardly
obsolete (nor is M2004). I'm sure that lots of software on your computer is
more that 3 years old and works fine. The only thing that times out after 2
years in the US version is the ability to download data from your financial
institutions. However the UK version will probably not time out until (and
if) M$ produces a newer UK version of Money.

as I understand you are using a UK 2004 version of Money, as I do
despite I am in Italy, pls will you be so kind to comment my following
issue:
I have seen that the last "new" Money purchasable in England seems
to me almost obsolete with respect of the US editions, so as the UK
Money is waiting to issue a real new version. For the above I dont see
any good reason to upgrade.

Thus I either have to A) have two passport accounts (and hope that it fixes
it!), or B) move every account (MSN, MSDN, TechNet, Outside instutions like
Compass Bank) that rely on passport to the new account. MSFT is dropping the
ball.

Ok I can top all of you. 4 weeks ago I upgraded the disk in my laptop. I
had a few issues that I worked out. Monday I loaded NOD32 and some other
software. Tuesday Money 2004 would not accept name and password. I could

I.m a UK user with the same problem. However I have found that I can open
Money by clicking the box on the initial screen that says"I do not require
the online features of Money which require Microsoft Passport etc." If I then
seect "update securities online" everything does update but there are no
subsequent automatic updates, i.e. I have to initiate further updates myself.

If you don't see it, see if IE File-> WorkOffline before opening
Money helps with that.

I am not in the UK I'm in the USA and I have not been able to log on since
Dec 17th also.

That online services notice was some time ago does it really apply to just
updating investments which is all I do.

Has anyone tried Quicken? It's so hard to get support on Microsoft I may
try them if I have to upgrade.
