According to the notes on the back of the Cd case for Money 2005, internet
based services are available for 2 years after activation or September 1st
2007 whichever is earlier. Something to bear in mind if you were thinking of
using the internet services.

Amazon.co.uk have Money 2005 UK at £24.48, although confusingly they date it
2004 which is when it was released.

You might care to browse at http://money.mvps.org/ which gives some useful
tips and explains in fuller detail the differences between US and other
versions.

I don't need anything to heavy. As long as I can see my different bank
accounts, expenditure and a forecast, I think I will be satisfied. I do not
need tax, stocks/shares, pensions or such like. Being able to download
statements from my bank would be helpful, although not imperitive.

Maybe M2005 will suffice? (Assuming it is still available).

Default Re: New UK version of Money?

Dobbo, slightly tongue in cheek I was referring to the fact that a US
version spells Cheque "the wrong way" as Check and 401K is the US retirement
fund. The reason MS have different versions is that the regional versions
are specifically tailored for the fiscal laws and practices of the relevant
region. If you simply want something that allows you to track your bank
accounts and savings and shares without worrying about Capital Gains then
you probably will get away with using a US version.

But please note that a UK version of Money cannot directly read a file
created by a US version (and vice versa). So if MS do produce a UK version
in the future you cannot directly read your US file. There are workarounds
but they lose data in the process.

Thanks Bob.

I am not currently a Money user, this will be a new venture.

What are 'Check' and '401K' that you mention?

If I go ahead with the US version, and (being optimistic) a UK version does
get a release, will I have difficulties importing the data?

Kind regards,

Correct there is no news of a new UK version.

Which version you buy depends on if you are already a UK Money user. If so
you are stuck with M2005 as only a UK version can read a UK file. If you are
new to Money then you could use a US version - latest is Money+ (aka
M2008) - a) if you can put up with Check and 401K and other aspects of the
US Fiscal system and b) if you can get someone to ship it to you as places
like Amazon.com won't ship to a non USA address and c) if you accept that
should MS produce a UK version in the future you will be stuck with the US
version.

Default New UK version of Money?

From what I can gather, it looks like there will not be a new version of
Money for the UK.

Firstly, is this the case? Secondly, which version should I purchase?

Running Vista Home Premium.
