I have no Watch accounts, and I double checked the settings. But M-Plus is> account in the Account Settings. behaving as if something as been set to auto delete after 30 days, as if they were watch accounts. I'd like to be able to measure account performance, including sold positions, but I guess not. I like Money, but sometimes it behaves in ways I can't figure out. | Mark, under Reports one can choose individual investments within an account without choosing them all. You can't do that in Portfolio Manager. Choosing "Position" in PM lists all positions within the account chosen. Since I had the problem in M2004, I've been careful not to delete any closed investments in M-Plus, yet deleted they are. Something else is going on here, I'm afraid. lzc "Mark" <abcd[at]abcd.com> wrote in message news:%23SWEy7OOIHA.4740[at]TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... - quote - > You can change the view it the Porfolio Manager to Group By "Position" > If your closed positions are truely gone, then it may actually be that > those positions were deleted and not closed or you have a different Money > data file opened that does not have those transactions. > -Mark > "L Cramer" <1zcra(exclude)mer[at]yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:WZCdnXqQDLfo-8TanZ2dnUVZ_smnnZ2d[at]comcast.com... > > > > I would use the various columns available for the Portfolio. | You can change the view it the Porfolio Manager to Group By "Position" If your closed positions are truely gone, then it may actually be that those positions were deleted and not closed or you have a different Money data file opened that does not have those transactions. -Mark "L Cramer" <1zcra(exclude)mer[at]yahoo.com> wrote in message news:WZCdnXqQDLfo-8TanZ2dnUVZ_smnnZ2d[at]comcast.com... - quote - > > > I would use the various columns available for the Portfolio. Selecting Show Closed Positions doesn't make a difference. And one shortcoming of Portfolio Manager is that the display selection must be by Accounts, not individual investments, as Reports allows. Reports, when working properly, allows one to compare the performance of one class of individual investments with another. Thanks. not addressing the performance reports, but I find the Portfolio section more useful for this. From the Portfolio select ChangePortfolioView-> ShowClosedPositions Then CustomizeCurrentView-> PortfolioColumns Select each of the seven TotalReturn items, and click Add. Also select TotalAnnualizedReturn. These will give a much better view of how each of your investments have been performing. You can reorder them by selecting one in the DisplayedColumns and choosing MoveUp or MoveDown. Do not use the "% gain" column. When done, you can do SaveAs. Money will ask for a name for that view. Then you will be able to select that view with SelectView in the upper-left of the portfolio. Alternatively, click Save, and the view that was in effect when you clicked CustomizeCurrentView will be modified. |

| In M-Plus, Dlx, investments that have been sold for more than 30 days no longer display in various Reports, such as "Performance by investment account." This prevents me from measuring, for example, YTD account performance including closed positions. They will display in some Reports (Capital Gains), although aren't visible in the list of investments to select in the Customize option. This was also a flaw in M2004, and my belief that the problem must by now be corrected was one reason I upgraded. Am I missing something here? Thanks. |
