Enter a Sell of 100 shares into the A account for MSFT dated
11/27/07 [at]$33.06.
Enter a cash transfer from A to B of $3306 dated 11/27/07
Enter a Buy of 100 shares into the B account for MSFT dated 11/27/07
[at]$33.06.

In case 2 I would be changing the name and data for the account, and
not change the name or symbol of any investment in either case.

in case 2, how do you change the account data so it reflects a change on the
date you actually made the transaction? also, it seems like if you simply
change the symbol, you're still going to have a different total # of shares,
thereby resulting in an incorrect acct value.

Case 1 would retain performance data to the date of the buys and
sells, and would start fresh the second time -- assuming you used
the current prices as the sell and buy prices.

Case 2 would keep the performance data continuous as if the account
had not changed.

will both of these techniques retain the performance data? it would seem both
would be lost (case 1) or alterred (case 2).

There are two good ways:

1. Sell everything in account A, transfer the cash, to account B,
and Buy everything in account B.

2. Don't enter anything into the account. Instead, disable account A
for online access. Change the name and numbers to those for account
B. Re-enable for online access if you like. Enter the information
that you want to remember into the Comment for the account.

Default microsoft money 2006 - exchanging roth ira funds

i recently performed an exchange of funds from my t rowe price account A to t
rowe price account B. i transfered all of the funds in account A and am
closing that. i would like to record this transaction in money of course, but
would like to keep the records of the gains i had with account A. i can't
seem to find a way to do this. i could transfer to a brand new account, but
currently, i have all my t rowe funds grouped under one large umbrella within
money. when i try to do a 'transfer out' from account A, i can only transfer
to the umbrella accounts, and even if i try to transfer to the general t rowe
price account, it says i cannot transfer within the same account. help!
