| What made it easier? Seems like the number of keystrokes would have been about the same. "Chris Cowles" <spam_magnet[at]remove-me-bellsouth.net> wrote in message news:ezaXbD%23KIHA.6108[at]TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... - quote - > It was easier with forms enabled than with direct register entry. |

I'll add that I never used abbreviations before but found them useful.A few payees she used were common (e.g., Wal-Mart) but were not the alphabetically first or second in the list after typing the first character. I used 2-character or 1-numeral abbreviations on very common payees to great benefit. |

Not always true, Dick. I just manually entered a years' worth of> reasonable things like this. Turn them off. You will never miss > them. credit card data while recording my Mom's financial history. It was easier with forms enabled than with direct register entry. Believe me, I was looking for shortcuts. For routine data entry, I concur. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Transaction Forms are for beginners who don't want to do perfectly reasonable things like this. Turn them off. You will never miss them. I don't think it was different programmers, I think it was different expectations of what users used which element of the UI for what purposes. | So I found the answer (this is Money 2007), you turn off the checkbox to show transactions forms and edit the transaction in the list. For some reason (two different people programmed those two sections and we'ren't totally in sync), it lets you change the accout you are crediting be it an asset/liability account or an expense account ("category") "Thinker" wrote: - quote - > Why is Money not letting me change a transfer to an expense? | Why is Money not letting me change a transfer to an expense? I know Microsoft thinks they are protecting me--but I have an expense that I classified as an Account Receivable (I was going to file it on an expense report at work), later, I decided that I would not be able to expense it at work and now need to change that transaction from an Asset Account to Asset Account transfer to an Asset Account to Expense Account chargeoff. Why can't I do this? How do I tell money "I know what I am doing please let me do this?" |
