It will do a backup of the Money04 file in the process, but to be safe, make your own backup before you start. It's not fun when the upgrade fails and you have a corrupted file. -- Steve B. | You can install the new Money program in a separate directory. You have to LOOK VERY CAREFULLY at the install dialog boxes to figure out where to sneak this in. The last version installed will own the file type associations. BUT: IF you just start the new install, it will want to take you existing file and upgrade it to the new file format. That's a ONE WAY conversion. If you don't want this, copy the file to a new name and double click it as the first thing you do after installing the new version. I'm not sure why you'd want to upgrade but keep the old version and "close" your M04 data file. Why not just keep running with the same file under one version after the other??!? When I updated from Money03 to Money04 it over wrote the Money 03. I dont want that to happen. I want to be able to run both, but seperately. |
