| Logitech Support told me to uninstall the existing Setpoint software and install the latest version (4.4) for which they provided an FTP link. I have used this version for a week now and have not had any problem with Money Plus. The update is also available on Logitech Support's download page. | The Setpoint software checks for updates and reports none available. A good idea to contact Logitech though, thanks. I also found that exiting Setpoint allows launch with the mouse plugged in and that restarting Setpoint allows further launches to complete successfully. So the problem is intermittent, dependent on some change of state I guess. I just left a message on Logitech's support page. | Have you gone out to Logitech to see if there is an update mouse driver and or Setpoint software? -Mark "Balder" <Balder[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F6AAFC44-C05A-499D-9942-7C567490B57F[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Well, I gotta take it back now. | Well, I gotta take it back now. After working on and off for several hours, launching, closing launching many times with my Logitech mouse without any trouble, now it's crashing again when launching. Now if I unplug the mouse it still launches. I can then plug the mouse back in, use the program without trouble, quit, re-launch and get the crash again. Something has changed. | I encountered the crash on my Dell laptop after downloading from Digital River on April 5, 2008. There is a documented problem with incompatibility with Logitech mouse Setpoint software and you are supposed to uninstall it. I was using a Logitech VX Revolution mouse which I guess has the setpoint software. I could not get Money Plus to start at all (error in module ntdll.dll). All I had to do was unplug the mouse and use the touchpad on the laptop. Money Plus started just find and immediately told me to download the update. After much web browsing I found this is the SP1 update to 17.0.120.1415. This update became available March 26-28, 2008. Apparently downloading Money Plus a week after this update was released still gives you the old 17.0.000.724 with several of the startup crash bugs I've seen posted elsewhere. When you purchase Money Plus for download, why don't you get the latest version? I spent over 3 hours on this! Anyway, after the update, I can now use my Logitech mouse. I did not need to uninstall any Logitech software. "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Randy wrote: > > Thanks for the info. That was it? I thought you used your finger on a tablet PC.Anyway, if I read correctly, you can still use that mouse, but just not that SetPoint software. You should be able to still point and click. - quote - > Randy > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Randy wrote: > > > > On startup, either program crashes when started. | On startup, either program crashes when started. I have removed all virus software. I have tried removing almost everything and still no help. I went through the help for a crash like this and adding all the updates, reinstalled, etc. and no luck. The general error message reads like this always: AppName: msmoney.exe AppVer: 17.0.0.724 ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00001010 I am wondering if the tablet version does not work. 2007 worked for a while, but stopped after I installed something, but I did not know which program it was. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks, Randy |
