The Quotes & Exchange Rates updates began working but the Banks & Brokerages and the Money Updates still return errors. Then I installed just the KB 943460 Windows Update. No change: Quotes & Exchange Rates updates still working and the others broken. Finally I came back to today's restore point. Quotes & Exchange Rates updates quit working and the Banks & Brokerages and the Money Updates are still broken. -- Charles |

If Money still updates after that reinstallation, try the MS07-062/KB 941672 update, although it may not be necessary for your computer. It applied only to various server editions and Windows 2000. -- Charles |

| So I got desperate and did a restore to Friday 9th Nov and money now update quotes ! No idea why this worked. There was a regular monthly microsoft update which I installed on the 14th! no idea if that had anything to do with it. I'm also using Money 2002, and my "Money Updates" stopped a few months> running under Windows XP Home SP2 developed a problem with Internet Updates. > The Call Summary message window under Quotes and Exchange Rates reads: > "Money was unable to complete the operation. I think this was mainly updating financial institution data, so I'm not too worried about that. I still am receiving quotes and downloads from my bank, etc., though. |

| My installation of Microsoft Money 2002 Standard Edition (Version 10.0) running under Windows XP Home SP2 developed a problem with Internet Updates. The Call Summary message window under Quotes and Exchange Rates reads: "Money was unable to complete the operation. There is a problem with your Money installation. Please reinstall Money from your original product disks." Under Money Updates it reads: "An unknown error has occurred. Please try the operation again. If problem persists, reinstall Money from your original product disks" An update from Wells Fargo Bank is also apparently available. I can't download that either. I have tried all of the following items without success: Reinstalled Money. Disabled the Windows XP firewall. Reduced the Internet Explorer 7 security settings. Signed on with Windows Live ID. Signed on from the administrator's account. Tried to update only online quotes for Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nasdaq Composite Index and Standard & Poor's 500. None of that works. I can view the Microsoft Website online from within Money so the Internet connection is working. The registry subkey HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Investor does not exist even after a reinstallation of Money. Should it be possible to get updates or is it permanently broken? -- Charles |
