Yup. That's why I was asking. I can't imagine leaving the data behind, ever,
for any reason.

Just abandoned it (left is on MS Money 2005) and when installed MS Money
Essential, just had it refresh everything from our accounts from a specific
date forward.

From prior email response, sounds like I may need to look at a difference
version of the product....

Thanks - Will

How did you migrate your old data or did you just abandon it?

In the opinion of most respondents here, that's not an upgrade. Money
Essentials is pure bait-and-switch junk. You won't be able to do what
you ask, and that discovery is just the beginning. There are many
other disappointments. Get Deluxe or, if you have use of the add-on
freebies, Premium. Be aware that some or all of the freebies are for
new customers, not renewals.

Default Adding Categories in MS Money Essentials

Just upgraded from MS Money 2005 to MS Essentials and cannot find a way to
add or change category names that appear in the dropdown listing for payees?
For example, I have Dining Out as a category, but would like a separate
category for Coffee (yeah, from Seattle!). Thanks for any help - Will
