| Well, that's the thing. It doesn't work when I try to re-create the account with online services now. In fact, I just had to do that not long ago when it was Microsoft that did some update and that's just how I did it. Re-create the account (just put in the same un/pw as you do when you login to the bank's web site) and then merge the old account with the new one and you're back to normal. When I try and create the new account now I get to the screen where it asks for the un/pw and I put in the same thing I do at the web site like I always have but it's saying it doesn't match and I need to contact my bank. Of course, BoA is telling me I have to sign up for this stupid $9.95/mo service just to be able to do this. Basically, the way I understand it is that Microsoft's servers were syncing with the bank and then Money was actually syncing with MS servers. That's why I never had to sign up with the bank's service. They had PayPal working that same way for a little while and then one day is just went away and wouldn't work anymore. Their servers synced with PayPal and then Money syced with MS servers. It's been gone for a little while now. So I just sit here wondering...is this simply something that isn't quite working at the moment on Microsoft's end? Something they'll get fixed and this will work again after a little while..?? Or did BoA get after MS about this and tell them to stop allowing that since they are trying to charge people money for it..?? Or...what?? | I've got the same problem, you need to go to"Manage Online Services" and recreate the online service. This happens because the bank or brokerage updates their security and your account settings have to match. Unfortunately for me MS Money doesn't have a profile for California accounts, that's why I'm here. "DRUAngell" wrote: - quote - > I've got Bank of America. | I've got Bank of America. When I first opened those accounts I was using Money 2007 and I configured the online services within Money for my BoA accounts. I was very pleased with the fact that I simply used the same login credentials as I used when logging into BoA's web site to setup the accounts inside of Money. After this was done I was able to click the "Update" button inside Money and it downloaded my transactions into the account registers just as expected. Then, not long ago, Money had some kind of update that involved re-creating your online services accounts and then merging them. I did so, following the same procedures as the first time, then merged, and I was all back to normal. Everything worked great ever since that update until just a few days ago. A few days ago I started getting errors when trying to download updates into Money. I shrugged it off cuz that does happen sometimes, but after 3 or 4 straight days of this I actually looked at the error message which stated that a change had been made with Bank of America and I had to re-configure my online services. Well now when I try do it Money will not accept the login credentials that I use to login to my online banking. I called BoA who say that I've never been signed up to use the Money/Quicken features and that they cost $9.95/mo! I never paid a penny for this feature and it always worked beautifully simply by putting in the same login credentials into Money as I do on the site. Now I can't. The BoA guy was confused because I never signed up for this feature with them but I used it for months. I'm thinking it must be something to do with the fact that it was using MSN servers to download those transactions from...??? I know that PayPal used to work and now doesn't...is this the same with BoA??? If so, why does this keep happening?? Why does MS keep giving us features for a little while and then take them away. Having PayPal connected to Money was great! Then it was gone. Having BoA connected for free was great, now BoA says I need to pay them (and say I always should have been). Did BoA tell MS to stop allowing users to downloaded transactions from MSN or what? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
