Schwab claims the problem is solved.

I now can download transactions but the same (recent) transactions download
each time I do a internet update. Schwab is suppose to call me back to work
on this issue.

I am curious: did you install the "Root Certificate Updates" of
October 9?

If you go to Windows Update, and click ReviewYourUpdateHistory on
the left, it will list your updates.

That would be a company providing service to Schwab to implement
their servers. The point was the certificate. The fact that you got
the warning would indicate that the certificate was not recognized
as trustworthy. And that is the problem that is being looked into.

Based on
http://www.microsoft.com/money/banko...BrokeragesOnly
they also have real OFX servers. If I read your posts on Scott Trade
correctly, you are downloading fine, but the transactions are not
being brought in. I will try to discuss this on the other thread.

The one you are thinking of is for those FIs that do not provide OFX
servers, and the information has to be obtained via third party
Yodlee. Schwab does provide real provide OFX servers, so that would
not apply. The problem is being worked, so sit tight for now.

Carl,

I am still having the problem. I know there is a web site that I can go to
to check the error message I receive on each account but I can not remember
how to get there. Do you know the web address for the error messages?

I do get a certificate error, as below:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a
trusted certificate authority.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or
intercept any data you send to the server.

When I go to the web address you provided, it gave me a message that it did
not recommend that I proceed but I said to proceed. I see some site from
covalent which does not make any sense to me.

In another post of yours you said that Schwab has real OFX servers. I do
not know what that means, but I was wondering what you know about Scottrade.
I have posted some problems that I am having with Scottrade download of
transactions and wondering what you might know about it.

If you go to https://ofx.schwab.com/ in IE7, do you get a
certificate error? If not, does the problem still exist?

Since Schwab has real OFX servers, the MSN Money site would not
interfere with Schwab.

Do you still have a problem at Schwab, or is it fixed?

couple of days to sort itself out.

Default error message connecting to Schwab

I just noticed that the MSN money web site says that the site is being
updated and access to MyAccounts is unavailable. Maybe this is the problem
but I am not sure why that would only affect Schwab.

I am also getting a message that Money H&B 2008 cannot update my Schwab
files. It was working fine earlier in the day but just started having the
problem.

I suggest waiting until tomorrow morning to see if it is a Schwab problem
and clears up. I would appreciate it if you would update your status when
you know something.
