Default Re: Two Computers

If I understand your question, you want to have Money06 on one computer and
MoneyPlus on the other. This will not work as Money data files are not
compatible across versions. MoneyPlus will convert your M06 file to work
in MoneyPlus, but you will not be able to use that new file any more on
Money06.

Note that you can legally install MoneyPlus (as well as all prior versions)
on two computers, a Desktop and a Laptop. So you can do what you want, but
both installations need to be M06 or MPlus.

Money works marginally with network stored files. Performance is the big
issue here. Money works very, very, poorly if two machines try to access the
same file at once. If you move the file from machine to machine that would
be fine but tedious. Synchronizing an offline copy would probably work but
be careful to avoid syncing while one or the other is running. We have no
reports on Money Insights (the new name for the new Money Express SysTray
tool) causes bad karma when a second machine is running real Money to access
the data. I'd avoid doing it or would test it a lot before committing to
doing it with a file I didn't have thoroughly backed up.

Default Two Computers

I currently have Microsoft Money 06 on my desktop and it works great.
With my subscription running out for online updates I need to buy a
new version. Does anyone know if about using two computers for one
file will work? I would like to be able to switch between my desktop
and my laptop. Thanks
